Anti-Doping Letter
Dear Athletes and Coaches,
Please remember that the Irish Powerlifting Federation is wholly committed to ensuring that the integrity of the sport is maintained by enforcing strict doping control systems, in line with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
WADA produce an Athlete Reference Guide to the World Anti-Doping Code which you may find useful. The Athlete Reference Guide is available here: https://wada-main-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/resources/files/wada-reference-guide-to-2015-code.pdf
The Code boils down to one very simple principle of strict liability:
If it is in your body, you are responsible for it.
The Prohibited List for 2020 is available here: https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/default/files/wada_2020_english_prohibited_list_0.pdf
If you require a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE), please find the form here: http://www.irishpowerliftingfederation.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tue_application_form_20181122_en-.docx
If you are uncertain about a medication or supplement then please get in touch with Dr. Tara Conlon, the IPF’s Anti-Doping Officer, by email (tara@irishpowerliftingfederation.com) and she will do her best to give you accurate information.
Happy Lifting.
