Duties of the IPF Operating Committee

Anti-Doping Officer

  • Co-ordinating the IPF’s Anti-Doping Programme
  • Managing the IPF’s Whereabouts Programme for Designated Athletes
  • Liaising with the IPF’s Anti-Doping suppliers and partners (e.g. testers, labs, WADA, etc.)
  • Supervising, or deputising someone to supervise, all IPF in-competition testing
  • Reporting all anti-doping results to the IPF Executive Committee and the International Powerlifting Federation and European Powerlifting Federation as required
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Competition Officer

  • Arranging competitions throughout Ireland including Opens, All Irelands, and National Championships
  • Providing a Competition Calendar to the IPF Membership
  • Arranging IPF-provided personnel for all competitions (referees, officials, and administration personnel)
  • Ensuring all competition entry fees are paid and all competitors are members of the IPF in good standing
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Membership Officer

  • Maintain and keep up to date the Membership List
  • Ensure all members have the required information on file (name, email, date of birth, gender)
  • Decide on the membership fee by consulting with the IPF Executive Committee
  • Provide references to IPF members wishing to compete domestically with other International Powerlifting Federation affiliates
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Record Officer

  • Certifies all Irish National Records achieved in sanctioned competitions
  • Ensures records are kept up to date and are available at each competition
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Social Media Officer

  • Manages the IPF’s Social Media presence including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Documents, or deputises someone to document, all IPF domestic competitions and IPF lifters competing internationally
  • Promotes the IPF’s competitions across all Social Media channels
  • Grows the IPF’s Social Media following
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Technical Officer

  • Ensures the IPF’s Technical Rules are updated as needed
  • Sanctions Referee’s Exams and maintains refereeing standards through regular continuous training and testing
  • Ensures the IPF’s Technical Rules are not in conflict with those of the International Powerlifting Federation and European Powerlifting Federation
  • Ensures equipment used at all IPF competitions meets the required standards
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF

Website Officer

  • Manages and maintains the IPF’s website
  • Ensures the IPF’s website has timely information relating to membership, competitions, and records
  • Regularly adds other content to the IPF’s website in line with the IPF’s ethos and membership’s interests
  • Other duties as necessary in order to achieve the aims of the IPF
